2003 Yadamini "Yada" Gunawardena has been a member of parliament in Sri Lanka since August 2020 and serves on the Parliamentary Consultative committees for Education and Technology. 2005 Casey Nye is now the superintendent of the D.C. Everest Area School District.
Amy Flessert medaled in all five of her events at the U.S. Pan American Swim Championships, which were held in July in Medellin, Columbia. Leslie Lewison Berg is now the director of special education for CESA 11 serving the Grantsburg, Luck and Webster (Wisconsin) school districts. Amy LaRue is a senior lecturer for UW-Superior in the Health and Human Performance Department. 2008 Jason Maloney, retired Army major, has been appointed by Governor Evers to the Wisconsin Board of Veterans Affairs and to the Blue Ribbon Commission on Veteran Opportunity. Jeffrey Carey is now the 6-12 principal at Ely Memorial (Minnesota) High School. Stefan Fletcher, Ph.D., was elected to serve as the chair- elect of the Association of College and University Policy Administrators (ACUPA), the association leading international organization for higher education policy professionals. He will automatically move into the ACUPA chair position in 2024. Crystal Prior Schoeder is a supervised visit worker with Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota. 2009 Dena Hagen received the 2022 New Special Education Leader Award. Dena is the director of special education at Northern Lights Special Education Cooperative in Esko, Minnesota.
Melissa Soliday Riedasch ’03 completed her master's in education at UW-Stout in November 2021. She has taught preschool for the School District of Superior for over 11 years and achieved National Board Certification in 2019. Melissa and her husband, Clint, have a son, Ryker, and a daughter, Reese.
Matt Renwick is currently a principal in the Mineral Point Unified School District. In 2022, he released a book, "Leading Like a C.O.A.C.H.: Five Strategies for Supporting Teaching and Learning." Lori Yecoshenko is a senior lecturer for the UW-Superior School of Business and Economics. Matt Bailey is now the head coach of the St. Croix Central (Wisconsin) boy’s basketball team and a special education teacher. Angela Smith Wood is an assistant teaching professor at UW-Superior. 2007 Eric Lindell started working at The BRICK Ministries in Ashland, Wisconsin, in August of 2021. He helps to connect current homeowners with resources and works with the homeless community to assist them with working toward positive outcomes. Kim Rawson has joined the staff of Jackson State Community College in Tennessee as an associate professor of communication. Jessica Reijo Buran is a senior lecturer with the Center for Continuing Education at UWS.
Eric Olson ’09 led a business and government partnership that raised $5.6M for a new television broadcast center in Austin, Minnesota. A groundbreaking event was held October 2021. Olson (fourth from right) is president and CEO of KSMQ-TV, a PBS affiliate.
