Evangelistic Department INTEREST ING STORIES from REAL EXPERIENCE A S T O L D B Y B I B L E I N S T I T U T E W O R K E R S

SPANISH WORK Robt. H. Bender, Supt. B HE month of Ju ly has been a strenuous month for w ith the l o n g afternoons we have sought tp reach as many as possible. W ith the help of ou r son David as organist we have gone to th e different camps, placed our selves in the best location where all could hear, opened our Bilhorn or gan and sent fo rth its sweet strain s of music. Then we sang th e Gospel for a while and rejoice to say th a t we had a very respectful audience and a t tention, th e men coming and sitting on th e grass, th e children ou t of curiosity surrounding th e organ, the women sit ting on th e ir doorsteps and those th a t lived fa rth er away bringing th e ir boxes n earer in order to hear. They truly manifested a hunger to h ear th e Word of God. We were very much encour aged to see th e converts’ in terest and boldness in standing w ith us while we sang, They evidently were not ashamed to confess they were one of us, for it means something for them to thu s de clare themselves as tru e believers in th e Lord Jesus Christ, It is indeed a good evidence of th eir faith in th e Lord Jesus Christ when they seek to make known the tru th to others. One of our young men believers was tran sfe rred to ano th er camp, and when we visited th a t camp a week or ten days la ter he called us in to his room and said, “ I w ant to present these two men to you. I have spoken to them about accepting Christ as th eir Saviour.” A fter dealing w ith them personally both professed to receive th e Lord as th e ir Saviour. In another camp ano ther believer had invited th ree men to an indoor meeting and we were able to induce th ree other men to come to our Bible Class, so we praise God for these who are coming into the ligh t and for th e believers who are w itnessing to th e ir unsaved friends. S trenuous W ork in H ot Days Every evening afte r our outdoor m eeting we invite any who desire to attend another meeting which we hold

in the room of a believer, and we ha%e a Bible study class. Thus we have had two meetings every day except S atu r day, which has made it somewhat strenuous these ho t days. We praise God th a t while we may get weary in the work, we never get tired of it. In one of our Camps four of our young men believers have already left for th e ir home in Mexico, and we are hoping and praying th a t wherever these con verts are scattered th ere shall be raised up a company of believers because of th e ir testim ony; and, if th e Lord will, th a t some day we may be privileged to make them a visit in Mexico. In closing let us lay it upon th e h ea rt of th e read er to p ray th a t these believers may be tru e and th a t a re vival may soon break out in Mexico as well as in th e United States. Seamen’s Work Oscar Z imm ennann, Supt. B AST month was again full of good things from Him, even if the enemy was ever alert and trying to hinder. The seed-sowing was, greatly^ en joyed and the results strengthened our faith and made us very happy. A fine young fellow was met one day who was apparently not very much in terested a t first, yet attentive enough to listen to th e first few m inutes of a direct message to him. Something th at was said in th e conversation seemed to have struck home, and becoming more and more in terested in the message, he whs finally definitely approached and asked if he would not accept the Lord as his per sonal Saviour. He was from a good bom'e and well brought up, but not conscious th a t he needed to be born again. That idea was new to him and made him un easy. He fought a hard fight against his conviction, but finally realized th at he could never get away from God and th a t he could never hide under anything except the blood of Christ. He was seen again and found to be trusting in the Lord and happy in the new-found faith.
