UNESCO HERITAGE TOUR
Wonder at the seemingly infinite terraced rice fields of Jatiluwih, the most famous of Bali's UNESCO World Heritage-listed 'subak' landscapes. Jatiluwih translates as 'truly marvelous' in testament to its views: emerald green paddies stretching as far as the eye can see up and over hillsides to Mount Batukaru in the distance. See for yourself how the ingenious and sustainable 'subak' system is the life blood of Bali's villages - the 9th Century irrigation network is still the main source of bringing water from the rivers, canals and weirs of Bali's highlands, to rice fields across the entire island. Take a short trek and soak up the scenery with lunch at a local restaurant. On the way to Jatiluwih, you will also visit Taman Ayun Temple which is surrounded by a wide moat and is a well-preserved example of classic Balinese architecture, and Batukaru Temple, which is set against the backdrop of the mountain of the same name. One of the island's largest Hindu temples, Batukaru. Reservations: FS Chat, or dial #2 for Concierge (please reserve at least one day in advance) Duration: 8 - 10 hours, available daily
