The author explains that the principle fo- cus of his book is in on the Italian side of the “Riviera” rather than the more famous sites of the Cote D’Azur. It de- scribes the bay of Mon- te Carlo and the town of Nice, but brings to life the towns along the Italian coastline, including Portofino, Le Cinque Terre, San Remo and Ventimiglia.
