A fine copy in a fine dustwrap - per, exceptionally clean and crisp with notably good colouring to the upper cover and spine, and just a little tanning to the rear panel and trivial wear to the upper corners. An excep- tional copy. [46529] £8,500 Due to its colouring and paper stock, fine copies of this dustwrapper are uncommon.

Ten official Faber Christmas cards, each signed by T.S.Eliot and given by him to his friends, Michael and Janet Richards. Each card designed and illustrated in lithograph by a Faber illustrator, including Barnett Freedman, Edward Bawden, Edward Ardiz- zone, Alan Howard, André François and Gerald Rose. Generally in very good condition indeed with occasional dustiness to the covers and odd marks. [46531] £8,500 An extensive collection of early Faber cards signed and given by T.S.Eliot. Faber began producing a consistent series of Christmas cards in 1945 to celebrate the end of the Second World War. The first five cards (1945+1950, no card issued in 1947) were all illustrated by Bar- nett Freedman and finely printed on rag paper by the Curwen Press. The 1948 card designated them as, “for the directors and members of Messrs. Faber & Faber to send to their friends”. All five of the initial Freedman cards are present in this collection as
