WHAT HAVEWE LEARNED?
Anniversaries are, of course, arbitrary... Yes, it does take about 365 days for the Earth to circle the sun, but beyond that there is often little empirical difference between the day of one’s birthday and the day after the day that marks your birth. Nevertheless, the passing of a full calendar year after any important event does provide an opportunity to reflect, analyze, and plan for the future. So it’s with the grimmest of recent anniversaries that we’ve reached the one-year mark for COVID-19.
