UWSP School of Health Sciences & Wellness Scholarships 2021

COURTNEY MESSAR is a student of the dietetics 4+1 program, who will earn a master’s degree one year after earning her undergrad. Courtney enjoys playing sports including basketball, softball and volleyball. She is looking forward to applying her knowledge of sports to the dietetics field and work as a sports dietician within a school one day. Fay Finch Clifford Scholarship This scholarship is in memory of Fay Finch Clifford. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide a scholarship for students majoring in dietetics or family and consumer sciences education. ERIN OSBORNE is a dietetics major who is also studying to become a Certified Nursing Assistant this summer, a credential that will help her become a well-rounded clinical practitioner. After earning her bachelor’s degree, Erin hopes to apply to a physician’s assistant graduate program. When Erin isn’t studying, she loves spending time with her family and enjoys to write. CPS Dean’s Award – Outstanding Junior in Dietetics This award is given to a dietetics junior who has demonstrated the strongest academic achievement amongst their program peers. CAYLEIGH SMITH CPS Dean’s Award – Outstanding Junior in Sustainable Food and Nutrition This award is given to a sustainable food and nutrition junior who has demonstrated the strongest academic achievement amongst their program’s peers. NATALIE STEWART is a dietetics major who plans to go on for her master’s degree and become a Registered Dietitian. She is a first-year UWSP Honors student and is involved in the Student Association of Nutrition and Dietetics student organization. Natalie is also a member of the Wisconsin Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics professional organization. Dr. Agnes A. Jones Scholarship This scholarship is available to current freshman, sophomore, junior or senior dietetics or family and consumer sciences students who demonstrate leadership, professional potential, ambition, academic achievement, good character and shows concern for others.

ELISHA WILSON is a dietetics major who looks forward to making positive impacts through becoming a Registered Dietician. She is a UWSP student- athlete for the Pointers cross country and track teams. Elisha is involved in the Botany Club and the Student Association of Nutrition and Dietetics. She volunteers with Ascension St. Michael’s Hospital as a screener. Judy Lubenow Honorary Scholarship Judy spent 36 years in the dietetics field, many of which were at St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point. She had a passion for UWSP students in dietetics as she spent time with them throughout her career. In dealing with patients, especially in the dialysis unit, Judy found that they were in inspiration. She hopes that someone can enjoy the profession as much as she did. Creating a scholarship for a student has been a lone time dream for Judy and this scholarship was created to help students who share the same passion for dietetics as she had. MACKENZIE WISDOM is a double major in sustainable food and nutrition and biology, who enjoys working in the campus garden. She also works as a barista for UWSP’s Basement Brewhaus. Mackenzie is leading a research project that is using hemp to study phytoremediation of soil. Her goal after college is to work out west as a biological invasive plant technician. CPS Dean’s Award – Outstanding Senior in Sustainable Food and Nutrition This award is given to a sustainable food and nutrition senior who has demonstrated the strongest academic achievement amongst their program peers.
