National Manufacturing Day

Crest Foods opened it’s doors for local schools to tour our facilities on National Manufacturing Day, which was Friday, April 7th. A group from AFC High School came to check out our West Production Facility, West Warehouse and Mix Facility. With Amy Wilcox, Jared Stumpenhorst and Erika Meiners as their tour guides, students were given the op- portunity to see how we blend, pack- age and store products in our facili- ties. The goal of this day was to Robins will build a nest anywhere! Joe Loomis’ (Ingredient Warehouse) truck was the prime spot for nest building this spring. It seemed that whenever he went out for morning break, lunch and then when he left for the day he’d have to remove the nests that the robins built in his truck. This went on for 2 days until the robins finally moved on to a different location.

expose students to not only what we do at Crest Foods, but the types of job opportunities available in a manufac- turing facility - especially one right in their hometown. After an hour tour and a lot of Q & A, we hope students got a feel for what we do here at Crest Foods and how they could potentially have a future in manufacturing!

Prom 2017

by Phyllis Ott

On April 8th, several Crest Foods employees, Matthew Harazin, Alfonzo Alvarado, Stephanie Eich, Phyllis Ott, Max Ballard and their spouses, as well as the Crest Foods Nurse from KSB Hospital, Heidi McGlown, attended a Fund Raising event. This event called the Senior Prom was held at the Post House Ballroom in Dixon, Illinois. The Prom is open to anyone over 21 years of age. The night was filled with great food and fellowship, photo opportunities with a professional photographer and a coronation. Ev- eryone in attendance danced the night away and helped to decide who would be crowned the 2017 King and Queen. This annual event is a fun time for a worthy charity. All funds collected support the Lee County Council on Aging. Put a reminder in your spring time calendar for the 2018 Senior Prom.
