Hockey season is back in Clarence-Rockland!

The Nats took home the win 4-2 against the Pembroke Lumber Kings and also shutout the Kanata Lasers 5-0.This leaves the Rock- land Nationals’ record going into the season at (4-3-0-0). The Clarence Beavers are also warming up for their season, starting off with ex- hibition games this week. The team’s first exhibition game will be held on Saturday,

September 9, against the Bytown Royals, but their first exhibition game at home will be the next day, Sunday, September 10, at 2:30 p.m., at the Clarence Arena re-matching the same team. The Beavers’ regular seasonwill start with an Away game on Saturday September 23 against theMorrisburg Lions. Locals will be able to catch the Beavers’ first home game on Sunday, October 1 at the Clarence Creek Recreation Centre, taking on the Vankleek Hill Cougars.

Les Nationals de Rockland Junior A entreprennent leur saison en affrontant les Grads de Navan cette semaine, le vendredi 8 septembre, à l’aréna de Rockland. Squaring off with the Navan Grads, the Nats are fresh off their pre-season camp. With the Rockland Minor Hockey Asso- ciation just finishing off their pre-season camps held at the Canadian International Hockey Arena in Rockland, from August 28 to August 31 of last week, the Rockland hockey season is just about ready to face off. This past Friday night at Mohawk Speedway InHogansburg NewYork,Plantagenet resident Brent Kelsey of Plantagenet was one of the winning drivers at theMohawk Speedway inHogansburg, NY Sept. 1.The Friday night track championship event saw Kelsey dominate the 35-lap Number One Speed Shop event, giving him the second-overall place in the track championship against 40 other drivers. The Sept. 1 race also put the Kelsey Racing Team of Brent Kelsey, Natasha Kelsey, Terry and Linda Kelsey, into the top five group in the Number One Speed Shop Racing Series. —photo fourni
