Hockey season is back in Clarence-Rockland!

The Nats took home the win 4-2 against the Pembroke Lumber Kings and also shutout the Kanata Lasers 5-0.This leaves the Rock- land Nationals’ record going into the season at (4-3-0-0). The Clarence Beavers are also warming up for their season, starting off with ex- hibition games this week. The team’s first exhibition game will be held on Saturday,

September 9, against the Bytown Royals, but their first exhibition game at home will be the next day, Sunday, September 10, at 2:30 p.m., at the Clarence Arena re-matching the same team. The Beavers’ regular seasonwill start with an Away game on Saturday September 23 against theMorrisburg Lions. Locals will be able to catch the Beavers’ first home game on Sunday, October 1 at the Clarence Creek Recreation Centre, taking on the Vankleek Hill Cougars.

This past Friday night at Mohawk Speedway InHogansburg NewYork,Plantagenet resident Brent Kelsey of Plantagenet was one of the winning drivers at theMohawk Speedway inHogansburg, NY Sept. 1.The Friday night track championship event saw Kelsey dominate the 35-lap Number One Speed Shop event, giving him the second-overall place in the track championship against 40 other drivers.
