RECONNECTING COMMUNITIES

TAKEAWAY People’s well-being is strongly linked to the intersection of their life experiences, situations and identities. Charitable efforts to address well-being need an intersectional approach. There is also more to explore on how people’s connections to family, friends and community are related to well-being.

As mental health in communities worsens and food security remains a persistent problem, philanthropy must use an intersectional approach. As communities reconnect post-pandemic, there is an opportunity to explore how a strong sense of community and belonging improves the measurements of well-being.
