by Ken Poure Director, Accent on Youth Crusades

“l\/irouNTAIN E vangelism ” is a JL t JL mighty tool in the hand of God. For the next twelve weeks great masses of young Americans will be involved in Christian camps and con ferences across the nation. With each new summer season the camping trend increases in volume. The spirit ual impact of a “week away with God” has brought new life to many churches. This is truly a unique, effective approach to reaching teens in time with the good news of the Gospel. On the morning of June 22, 1963 at 7:00 a.m. the buses will be leav ing the Biola campus in La Mirada for beautiful Hume Lake. This will be the 17th annual Biola-Hume Lake Hi School Conference, where every moment is designed for Teens of To day! Sgt. Bob Vernon of the Los An geles Police Dept, will be the Camp Dean. With his studies completed at Biola, Sgt. Vernon entered the field of law enforcement. This back ground has given him tremendous insight in to the lives of teenagers and a deep personal desire to direct youth to Christ. The Hi School program is based upon a casual, informal approach with a strong emphasis on the nec essity for each camper to come to know the Lord Jesus Christ. Let me take you through a day at camp and show you how this is accomplished! First the entire staff agrees it is “not by might” or powerful programs or personalities that the work is accom plished, but by the Holy Sp irit With

Hume Lake Conference Grounds, near Fresno, California, annually ministers to young people and adults in their beautiful setting. To the delight of young people, water sports abound at Hume Lake.
