Aurubis Receives Approval For Metallo Purchase The European Commission‘s antitrust authorities have is- sued Aurubis AG, Hamburg, Germany, unconditional approv- al for the acquisition of the Belgian-Spanish Metallo Group. This concludes the merger control proceedings that have been ongoing since August 2019.The transaction will close May 29. Metallo’s integration into Aurubis begins June 1. In May 2019,Aurubis reported its intention to acquire the recycling and refining company Metallo for a purchase price of 380 million euros.Metallo Group Holding is currently ma- jority-owned by investment firm TowerBrook Capital Part- ners and specializes in the recovery of nonferrous metals from a variety of material streams. The company employs about 540 people at locations in Belgium and Spain. Sustana Begins Accepting Cartons At Quebec Mill Sustana Fiber’s paper mill located in Lévis,Quebec, is now accepting recycled food and beverage cartons. The decision to accept recycled cartons at the Lévis fa- cility reflects Sustana’s strategic commitment to innovation and sustainability, according to the company, as well as the need for alternative sources of high-quality fiber due to high demand for household paper products. Every carton recy- cled helps provide the raw materials needed to produce es- sential items, such as toilet paper and paper towels.
