LAUNCHING OF THE MALAYSIAN SPACE INDUSTRY CORPORATION (MASIC) BY THE PRIME MINISTER 24 MAY MIGHT Pavilion, LIMA 2023 (Langkawi)
The Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Datuk Seri Anwar lbrahim, inaugurated the Malaysian Space Industry Corporation (MASIC) at MIGHT’s Pavillion, during Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) 2023. Initiated by MIGHT, this industry-led platform aims to bring together local space industry players to collaborate on developing the Malaysian space programme. MASIC, represented by space industry stakeholders, promotes their expertise and competencies, encouraging collaborations among local and international authorities, clients, industry players, and stakeholders. The launch of MASIC by the Prime Minister at LIMA 2023 signifies the government’s unwavering commitment to the growth and development of the space industry, aligning with the Malaysia Space Exploration (MSE2030) and Space Industry Strategic Plan (SISP). This initiative aims to attract investments, promote innovation, and position Malaysia as a prominent player in the global space industry. The goal is to realise the Government’s aspiration of a 1% or RMI0 billion contribution to the national GDP from the space sector by the year 2030.
