Datuk Dr Mohd Yusoff Sulaiman, the President and CEO of MIGHT, signed a significant partnership involving Wau Rocketry, a rocket prototype from Universiti Sains Malaysia’s (USM). The rocket, an innovative rocket launcher called HEBAT II (Hard work, Experience, Believe, Achieve, and Together), is part of MIGHT’s partnership initiative, designated for the upcoming American Spaceport Cup, the world’s largest IREC – Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition for student rocketry teams in New Mexico. In 2022, WAU Rocketry ranked 12 th out of 99 teams in the world’s largest intercollegiate rocket engineering conference and competition and seventh place in the 10,000-foot category out of 46 competing teams. With 24 countries from 6 continents competing, this will be the WAU Rocketry USM team’s second participation. This historic participation is expected to create numerous opportunities, leading to a brighter future in the local aerospace and space sector.
