ENERGY ASIA: CHARTING PATHWAYS FOR A SUSTAINABLE ASIA 26 JUNE Kuala Lumpur
Energy Asia 2023 took place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on June 26, 2023. The main theme centred around Asia’s pivotal role in the fight against climate change, leveraging its substantial population, strong economic growth, and promising energy expansion. Ministers from the region explored energy scenarios and strategic approaches to address the energy trilemma of security, transition, and affordability. Discussions touched on energy policies, regulations, and incentives to establish a cohesive, impactful, and sustainable framework. Industry stakeholders gave their commitment to achieving Net-Zero goals, focusing on clean energy technologies and emission reduction strategies. There were talks on showcasing leadership in managing methane emissions in the ASEAN oil and gas sector, encouraging collaborative efforts and partnerships. Datuk Dr Mohd Yusoff Sulaiman, President and CEO of MIGHT, was a speaker at the Malaysia’s Energy Transition Pathways, he highlighted the importance of cooperation between Federal and State governments in implementing renewable energy projects.
