Ts Dr Raslan Ahmad, FASc Senior Vice President, represented MIGHT as part of the Malaysian delegation at SCEWC2023 in Barcelona. This global event focuses on urban innovation and brings leaders from various sectors together to advance green, efficient, and thriving cities. The event featured panels on energy, environment, mobility, infrastructure, and building alongside Congress, Expo, and Side Events. MDEC organised a Malaysia Pavilion at the event. More than 25,000 professionals from over 800 cities and more than 140 countries participated, sharing their visions for sustainable urban development. During the event, Ts Dr Raslan Ahmad spoke on “Incorporating Innovative Approaches for Risk Reduction and Climate Actions for Smart and Sustainable City Development” at Smart City Expo World Congress. The presentation showcased Malaysia’s National Low Carbon Cities Masterplan, focusing on transforming cities into low-carbon communities. Cyberjaya serves as a model for low-carbon initiatives guided by ESG frameworks. Delegates from Colombia, Germany, South Korea, and Mexico attended the session.
