MALAYSIA URBAN FORUM 2023 ​

Ts Anusha Magendran represented MIGHT at Malaysia Urban Forum (MUF2023). This session aimed to enhance sustainable urban transformation through stronger international partnerships and local initiatives. Along with raising awareness about the 2030 Agenda and the New Urban Agenda, the session aimed to showcase data, research, innovations, and solutions for the accelerated implementation of smart cities. Other speakers at the event included Mr Muhundhan Kamarapullai, Chief Digital Officer of MRANTI; Mr Hamadlan Haji Hamdan, Chief Technology Officer of Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC); Dr Yonis M. Yonis Buswig from the Faculty of Engineering at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS); and TPr Hajah Noraini Roslan, President of Klang City Council.

FOCUS GROUP DISCUSSION ON SMART MELAKA BLUEPRINT & LOW CARBON 2050 STUDY​

MIGHT participated in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to provide valuable input for developing the Smart and Low Carbon Melaka City Blueprint 2050. Majlis Bandaraya Melaka Besejarah (MBMB) received the smart city early adopter award from PLANMalaysia and is now striving to align with the 85 indicators in ISO 37122:2019 required for the smart city rating in Malaysia. MIGHT shared insights gained from developing the Smart Melaka Blueprint 2035, serving as a guiding reference for actionable steps in MBMB’s plan. Mayor Datuk Haji Shadan Haji Othman emphasised the commitment to implementing smart and low-carbon initiatives in MBMB to support Melaka State’s transition towards a visionary smart city goal.
