MSCA @NATIONAL PLANNING CONGRESS 2023 (NPC2023)​ 8 NOVEMBER Putrajaya

National Planning Congress (NPC) 2023 is an annual event of World Town Planning Day that serves as a forum for discussing issues related to urban planning at the national and local levels. Its goal is to draw attention to the benefits of efficient planning in creating sustainable urban environments where people can live, work, and play. During the 2023 event, MSCA EXCO member Siti Shafinaz Salim participated as a panellist in a themed “Digital Transformation in Promoting Smart Living: Building Smarter Cities for the Future” session. The discussion was moderated by TPr Md Nazri Mohd Noordin from the Malaysian Institute of Planners (MIP) advisory council, focusing on the importance of resilience in planning to foster innovation. The panellists concurred that fostering an innovative environment driven by data and technology can enhance the resilience and adaptability of communities and organisations. NPC2023 aimed to enhance the professional status of town planners and increase public awareness regarding the significance of thorough and systematic town planning in achieving sustainable development for societal well-being. NPC introduced a more inclusive and integrated approach across urban and rural municipal councils, government bodies, private sectors, and the community, emphasising inclusivity among various socioeconomic groups.
