MIGHT WORKING VISIT TO BEIJING IN CONJUNCTION WITH GLOBAL DIGITAL ECONOMY CONFERENCE (GDEC) 2023 4-7 JULY Beijing, China
MIGHT led the Malaysian delegation, which included representatives from the Melaka State Economic Planning Unit and members of the Malaysia Smart Cities Alliance Association (MSCA), to the Global Digital Economy Conference in Beijing, China. MIGHT’s participation reflects our active involvement in exploring opportunities and partnerships in the digital economy and smart city development. The conference, held from 4 th to 7 th July, was co-hosted by the Beijing municipal government, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Commerce, the Cyberspace Administration of China, and the China Association for Science and Technology under the theme of
“Data Drives Development, Intelligence Leads the Future.” The delegation visited the Malaysian Embassy in Beijing to express gratitude for the embassy’s support and assistance while emphasising the objectives and importance of our efforts in China. The visit provided an opportunity for fruitful discussions, with embassy officials warmly receiving our messages and actively engaging in dialogue, particularly regarding MIGHT’s work in smart cities. Additionally, MIGHT participated as a Guest Speaker at the conference and facilitated a series of industrial visits to companies in Beijing, further enhancing collaboration and knowledge exchange. Through these engagements, MIGHT has positioned itself to strengthen collaboration initiatives at both local and international levels, contributing to the development of digital smart city transformations. This participation facilitated knowledge exchange and established connections and partnerships that can drive advancements in smart city initiatives in Malaysia.
