Congratulations to the newly crowned FameLab Malaysia National Champion 2023, Mr Afiq Abdul Hamid. Afiq, a brilliant 30-year-old astrophysicist, emerged victorious with his presentation “Making sense of the universe through multimessenger astronomy.” He will be representing Malaysia in the FameLab International competition. Mr Ejjaz Hakimi, a 19-year-old student from Asia Pacific University (APU), was the 1 st runner-up. 2 nd runner-up winner goes to Ms Eleen Dayana Mohd Isa, a postdoctoral fellow from the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). The audience choice award goes to Ms Raveena Vaidheswary from the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). FameLab is an internationally recognised science competition that challenged the participants to deliver a compelling three minute presentation effectively to a diverse audience. FameLab Malaysia is organised by MIGHT and supported by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MoHE), the Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation (MOSTI) and Sunway University as the venue partner for 2023.
