RAIL METRO ASIA, JAKARTA 9 OCTOBER Jakarta, Indonesia
Indonesia is planning to move its capital from Jakarta to a new city called Nusantara in East Kalimantan. The decision aims to ease congestion in Jakarta and symbolically shift the focus of the government away from Java. MARIC was there to express interest in the rail connectivity between Nusantara and Jakarta. The speech was presented by the MARIC Committee Council, Mr Hazwan Alif Abdul Rahman during the first day of the event. The Rail Metro Asia Tradeshow event was organised by China-ASIA 2023 International Railway and Urban Rail Transport, with support from by the Indonesian Ministry of Transport, the Indonesian Ministry of Industry, the Indonesian Intelligent Transport System Association (ITS Indonesia), and the China Local Railway Association.

MARIC spearheaded an expedition to uncover fresh prospects within the Cambodian rail market, specifically in the bidding process and conducting a feasibility assessment for the Rail Airport Line initiative. The mission went beyond mere introductions; its primary focus was establishing collaborative alliances and laying the groundwork for a promising future within Cambodia’s railway sector.
