BUSINESS MISSION TO TÜRKIYE NUCLEAR BUSINESS PLATFORM ( TNBP) 9-10 NOVEMBER Ankara, Türkiye​

A business mission to Turkiye Nuclear Business Platform (TNBP) was organised, with representatives from the Malaysian energy sector, including Nuklear Malaysia, Petronas, and Universities Tenaga Malaysia. The main objectives of this mission were to gain firsthand insights into Turkey’s current and future nuclear programmes to address Global Net Zero and Decarbonisation challenges and provide participants with hindsight, insight, and foresight in nuclear energy development on a global scale. TÜBITAK ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES GROUP AT METU CAMPUS The meeting mainly revolved around potential collaboration between the Malaysian energy stakeholders with TUBITAK Energy Technologies Institute. Senior researchers from different research areas presented their findings and proposals.​ The TÜBITAK Energy Technologies Institute conducts applied research and development projects in energy technologies. TÜRKIYE NUCLEAR ENERGY INCORPORATED (TÜNAŞ)​ The meeting with TÜNAŞ serves as a follow-up to the conversation between the Malaysian delegation and Mr. Necati Yamaç, CEO of TÜNAŞ, during TNBP 2030 at TÜNAŞ headquarters in Ankara. Several senior personnel from TÜNAŞ welcomed the Malaysian delegates, including the Chief Programme Officer, Mr. Cihat ZORLUTUNA, and Chief Finance Officer, Mr. Mufid GÖKTEPE.​The discussion primarily focused on sharing knowledge and experiences in harnessing nuclear energy and emphasised the importance of thorough preparation in building a robust regulatory infrastructure. ​ TÜRKIYE ENERGY, NUCLEAR AND MINERAL RESEARCH AGENCY (TENMAK) ​ The meeting was chaired by Prof Dr Abdulkadir BALIKCI, President of TENMAK. Also present were Prof Dr Uğur CEVIK, Vice President of TENMAK; Dr Bahadir SAIGI, Director of the Nuclear Research Institute (NÜKEN), and Dr Belma Soydas SÖZER, Director of the Rare Earth Element Research Institute (NATEN).​The discussion revolved around the potential collaboration between TENMAK and Malaysian energy stakeholders, covering not only nuclear research but also clean energy, renewable energy, hydrogen fuel cells, and rare earth elements.T​he Malaysian delegates were presented with current projects by researchers from the Clean Energy, Boron, Nuclear, and Rare Earth Element Research Institutes​.
