MSCA @MALAYSIA FIBER+ TALK 2023 AND MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) SIGNING CEREMONY WITH FTTH COUNCIL ASIA- PACIFIC 9 FEBRUARY Kuala Lumpur
The Malaysia FIBER+ Talk 2023 conference covered industry developments, opportunities, and challenges related to Fiber to Home, as well as strategies to leverage these advancements to enable 5G and the Internet of Things (IoT) for Smart Cities. Top executives from Telekom Malaysia, Celcom Digi, and local governments from Penang, Melaka, and Selangor attended the event, along with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). The gathering aimed to discuss opportunities, challenges, and updates in the industry. MSCA was also invited to participate in the Panel Session on Smart Connectivity Master Plan for Resilient Smart City to enhance Fiber Talk Malaysia 2023. The strategy for developing and implementing smart cities by the state government was the main topic of discussion in this session. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between MSCA and FIBER NETWORK COUNCIL APAC will enable MSCA to leverage the latter’s membership network to facilitate collaborative efforts in the development of Smart Cities. MSCA aims to utilise the latter’s membership network for further collaborative initiatives in smart city development. This entails sharing technology, skills, knowledge, and capabilities to provide sustainable communication solutions for long-term smart city development. Additionally, the Memorandum of Understanding emphasises the need for cooperation in enhancing the capacity of sustainable and smart city projects for effective project evaluation. Furthermore, it encourages efforts to explore opportunities for expanding the market for Industry 4.0 technology- based education and training.
