Lynn & Tom Haug WASHINGTON Mindset Makes the Difference
inside their head they will be repeating, ‘I can’t do that because…’” Next, Lynn asks them a simple question that isn’t so simple to answer: What do you want? “Then I flip the coin completely,” Lynn says, “and I ask, ‘What is happening in your life that you don’t want anymore? What is happening that you want to stop so you can feel happier?’ That can have a huge effect on creating their why and influencing how I coach them. After we dig deep in discovering their fears and dreams, I tell them, ‘I’ll support that vision and match that energy! I’m not the same person I was two and a half years ago, and I’m telling you that you will change too!’ “We have a saying on our team that the same boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg,” Lynn continues. “It means that it isn’t life’s circumstances that make a difference— it’s how you respond to them. Changing your mindset is about training your brain to react and respond proactively. That’s how you change and grow.” Lynn remembers well why she chose to build a business with Melaleuca. “I met a caliber of entrepreneur I had never known before,” she says. Her gratitude to her mentors (“They weren’t even on my team!”) was so profound, she gave them a gift of diamonds at her first Convention even though she had just begun to build. Ever since, she has been giving diamonds of support, love, and belief to all who join her team and are willing to work hard for a seismic shift into the paradigm of success. TP

Let’s unpack that fear!’ If we don’t deal with that fear—and everyone has one—they won’t be able to hear my words because
“There is a very specific thing I do when coaching,” Lynn says. “I create a safe environment. Our Melaleuca family trusts each other. We celebrate success, console after letdowns, and move forward as a team. Ecclesiastes 4:12 says, ‘A cord of three strands is not easily broken.’”
