Behavioral Health/Mental Health Counseling Wilson Counseling provides counseling services to adults, children, adolescents, and families, who are experiencing distress or crisis. Services include assessment, diagnosis of mental health disorders, treatment planning, and clinical intervention utilizing individual and family treatment modalities. Therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, EMDR, Narrative Therapy and other approaches as appropriate for each individual client. Frequently treated diagnoses include mood and depressive disorders, anxiety and adjustment disorders, PTSD and trauma-related disorders, pervasive developmental disorders (Autism), ADHD, behavioral problems, eating disorders, child abuse/neglect history, couples/marriage counseling, parent/child relationship issues, grief and loss, and substance abuse issues. ASAP (Adult/Adolescent Substance Abuse Program) ASAP at Wilson Place is our substance abuse program. We offer onsite drug testing with immediate results ($25 cash or card) as well as laboratory drug testing that may be covered by insurance for clients of Wilson Place. We offer Rapid Assessment with recommendations, standard assessment, individual and group treatment options, as well as offering State-certified DUI assessment and classes.

Best practice indicates the importance of treating both substance abuse issues and underlying mental health issues, as well as providing ongoing support. We offer substance abuse treatment, mental health counseling, and case management as a wrap-around service model to improve outcomes. Collaborative Divorce Coach . The goal of the Collaborative Divorce Process is to help the separating/divorcing couple to work successfully to achieve a positive resolution that minimizes the negative economic, social, and emotional consequences the family often experiences in the traditional adversarial separation and divorce process. In Collaborative Divorce, the parties agree to resolve all issues outside of court. To accomplish this, three independent disciplines work together as a team to integrate the legal, emotional and financial aspects of separation/divorce. The Coach will work with the couple to identify and prioritize the concerns of each person, make effective use of conflict resolution skills, develop effective co-parenting skills, work collaboratively with the couple and their lawyers and other involved professionals to enhance communication and reduce misunderstandings, and direct their best efforts towards keeping the collaborative process moving towards resolution. FREE Brief Needs Assessment. As a community service, Wilson Counseling will provide a free needs assessment to identify areas of need and then linkage with appropriate

services/resources in our community. Anyone can request this service. Court testimony in child abuse/neglect and custody cases. Comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, diagnosis of any presenting mental health issues, and treatment recommendations. Co-Parenting Counseling. Divorce often leads to difficulty in separating marital and parental issues. Children need both parents in their lives whenever possible. Co-parenting counseling focuses on the child’s best interest, addresses communication break-downs, and separates adult/child issues. Comprehensive Mental Health Evaluations by a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) can be conducted; most often Court-ordered to have formalized report with history, diagnoses and recommendations. In-depth comprehensive biopsychosocial evaluation to identify and diagnosis mental health issues, specify findings of clinical significance, and provide treatment recommendations. ** Comprehensive Mental Health Assessment is not a psychological assessment - these are conducted by a licensed psychologist and include standardized psychological testing, i.e. IQ test or MMPI. Mediation. Mediation is different from other forms of conflict resolution. The mediator helps facilitate discussion and settlement negotiations in an impartial and neutral manner. The mediator
