Move Forward Without Fear Of Falling By Seeking VESTIBULAR REHABILITATION

Vestibular rehabilitation is a dynamic approach to treating patients who are feeling dizzy, loss of balance, light headed, suffer from migraines, or are experiencing vertigo. These symptoms often originate from the inner ear and can be addressed with specific physical therapy techniques. In February of 2018 Lindsay Tolle PT, DPT, AIB VR/CON (Lead Inpatient PT), Margaret Blair PT, DPT, AIB VR/CON (Outpatient DPT), and Jessica Robinson PTA, AIB VR/CON (Outpatient PTA) attended a vestibular rehabilitation and concussion certification in Mesa, Arizona. This certification course was provided by The American Institute of Balance (AIB). From the AIB website “The AlB was founded in 1992, and is among the country’s largest multi-specialty centers for evaluation and treatment of dizziness and balance disorders. The Institute is internationally known

for its expertise in evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation. The institute’s therapy programs are used by physicians, audiologists, and therapists worldwide”. This four-day certification course educated therapists on identification of vestibular pathologies, concussion severity, and related rehabilitation management. These three therapists are now certified and working with speech language pathologists in an interdisciplinary focus to develop an evidence based vestibular and concussion management program to help community members and athletes recover comprehensively from injuries. Teton Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation therapists are currently accepting patients with vestibular pathologies and refining our concussion rehab program. We are very excited to be offering this service to the community. Please look for more information in the near future or call for details.
