STRATEG I C PLAN ACCOMPL I SHMENTS
The 2019-2020 academic year marked the last of our three-year strategic plan that transitioned us to a hub of innovation, inquiry, research and scholarship with an emphasis on four primary themes: superior research and innovation, engagement and outreach, assessment and effectiveness, and interdisciplinary collaboration and communication. The strategic plan utilizes 57 benchmark activities supporting 30 initiatives. Of these benchmarks, 84% were exceeded or achieved. A few of these accomplishments include: • Took four students to inaugural Florida Poster’s at the Capitol. • Received 14 student manuscripts to Beyond and established a graduate student editorial board. • Hosted 58 presentations for Virtual Discovery Day with site visitors from 44 countries. • Awarded to host 2020 Florida Undergraduate Research Association’s Virtual Fall Statewide Symposium. • Fostered strong partnerships enhancing experiential learning across campus, including projects with Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence, Living-Learning Communities, Office of Prestigious Awards and Fellowships, and Honors Program. • Launched a graduate school preparatory workshop series.
