Requirements for Certification / V13 2023-12-04

7.6.2 In order to maintain the GWO internal auditor qualification, auditors must undertake Auditor Development Training (ADT) within a 12-month period following completion of GWO Auditor Qualification Training (AQT)

7.6.3 Audit reports from internal auditors that have not documented conformance with the above requirements will not be accepted by the certification body

7.6.4 The training provider will keep records of the internal auditors, and of the audits they have participated in for, at least, the validity period of the certificate plus three months

7.6.5 GWO may withdraw the approval of an internal auditor following an investigation. This process will be instigated when GWO receives or uncovers evidence that the internal auditor is not complying with the applicable requirements. The final decision can be appealed by the training provider by further submission to the GWO Audit and Compliance Committee

7.7 The Internal Audit Process

7.7.1 The same site cannot be audited by an internal auditor remotely in two consecutive internal audits

7.7.2 Upon completion of the internal audit, the audit report will be submitted by the training provider to the certification body which issues the multi-site certificate

7.7.3 The certification body will do a quality assessment of the internal audit conducted, using the Assessment Template for Internal Audits (multi-site certification). This can be downloaded from www.globalwindsafety.org/certificationbodies/certification-body-criteria

7.7.4 The assessment will include, at a minimum, the following verification and follow up via review of records:

a. all sections in the audit report have been completed

b. all standards or modules have been witnessed during the two year certification cycle

c. assessment of findings and required verification of closure items

d. critical requirements which are identified in the assessment form

e. follow up from any investigation which was required for that site

7.7.5 The certification body will upload the completed assessment template into WINDA. If neither the audit report from the certification body, nor the completed assessment template is uploaded into WINDA within 12 months, the site will be de-activated in WINDA

7.7.6 The certification body may request the training provider to re-do an internal audit following quality assessment. If so, this must be reflected in the completed assessment template

7.7.7 The required sampling of records by the external auditor as part of the completion of the assessment template and following the internal audit can be done remotely

7.7.8 A copy of the completed assessment template will be sent by the external auditor both to the training provider and to the central function
