The invitation comes as the country moves towards healing from a period of turbulence, focusing on resilience and unwavering commitment to maintaining tourism amidst the ongoing challenges. Despite the ongoing conflict in the region, Israel is determined to show the world that it remains a peaceful destination for those seeking to experience its rich culture, history, and landscapes. The past few months have been trying for the country, with air corridors closed, and El Al flights rerouted to neighboring “friendly countries” as tensions rose. However, that chapter is now behind, and the government is focused on reigniting the tourism sector. While global headlines have painted a grim picture of the situation,

the brief, but intense, conflict with Iran, dubbed “Operation Am Kelavi” in Israel. The successful outcome of this operation from Israel’s perspective and the subsequent calming of the security situation were key factors in the European regulator’s decision to remove the flight warning. The advisory has also been lifted for Lebanon and Jordan. This decision is the green light Appointed during the height of the COVID-19 crisis, Ben-Tal Ganancia navigated El Al through pandemic recovery, geopolitical unrest, and temporary airspace closures at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport (TLV). Dina Ben-Tal Ganancia, who took over as CEO of El Al Israel Airlines (LY) in April 2022, is set to leave after over three years in the top position. boosting connectivity for both tourism and business. In a highly anticipated move, United Airlines has officially announced it will resume its flights to Israel starting July 21, 2025. This makes it one of the first major U.S. carriers to return, a crucial step for restoring travel from North America. In contrast, Delta Air Lines is maintaining a more cautious stance, with its Tel Aviv route currently paused through August 31, 2025. On the European front, the influx of returning airlines continues to grow. Greek carrier Aegean Airlines will resume its flights on July 15, 2025, initially offering routes to Athens, Crete, and Larnaca, with more destinations to follow. Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air is set to recommence its popular routes to Israel starting August 8, 2025. These carriers join a wave of others returning this month. Spain’s Air Europa is scheduled to resume flights on July 14, followed by Poland’s national carrier LOT on July 15 and Bulgaria Air on July 21. This follows the swift return of Air France, decades of experience within the company. She cited the complexity and sensitivity of managing El Al as key reasons for announcing her resignation in advance, allowing time for a comprehensive CEO search and a seamless handover. Ben-Tal Ganancia played a pivotal role in reshaping El Al during her tenure: • Labor Reform: She led negotiations to modernize labor agreements, enhancing operational flexibility and workforce productivity. • Fleet Modernization:

which already resumed its services on July 7. The Lufthansa Group is holding to its previously announced schedule, with Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, and Brussels Airlines set to resume their flights on August 1, 2025. However, travelers should note that SWISS, also part of the group, has postponed its return to Tel Aviv until October 25 for operational reasons. The removal of the EASA advisory is a critical step in restoring full air connectivity between Israel and the world. For international tourists, this translates to more options, potentially lower fares, and the reassurance of flying with leading global airlines. As more carriers return to the skies over Tel Aviv, the vibrant streets of Jerusalem, the bustling beaches of Tel Aviv, and the timeless landscapes of the Galilee are once again within easy reach.

This financial upswing was partially driven by reduced foreign airline activity to and from Israel due to security concerns, which boosted El Al’s market share. airlines have not yet resumed operations in Israel, and August is expected to see significantly lower traffic compared to August 2023, prior to the war. terminals, was built at a cost of approximately $13.5 million and allows for full operational flexibility. For comparison, Ben Gurion Airport handled over 2.9 million passengers in August 2023. Asked whether it was wise to invest tens of millions in expansion under current conditions, the Israel Airports Authority responded: “There is a clear operational justification for the expansion, which has already been postponed twice due to the war. With airlines returning at a steady pace and passenger traffic expected to reach 1.9 million this August—and more airlines planning to resume flights soon—these are very promising numbers, even though some low-cost carriers like Ryanair and easyJet have not yet returned”. Airport (TLV), which would further boost competition on this in-demand route. “This is an important step to strengthen competition, lower prices, improve service, and expand options for the public,” announced Israel’s Minister of Transport, Miri Regev. “After American United resumed its flights to Israel, and we are also working to bring Delta back, the aviation axis between Israel and the USA is growing stronger, with five airlines that will operate between the countries: three Israeli, two American. We will continue to work for open skies, fair competition, and strong Israeli aviation”.

largest airline, Arkia Airlines, is to inaugurate its first direct service from Tel Aviv to London Stansted airport. The venture is the latest strategic initiative to boost airlinks between the United Kingdom and Israel in the tourist high season. To launch its new route on August 2, 2025, the Israeli airline company Arkia will connect London Stansted Airport (STN), one of the busiest in the UK for travelers to and from the EU and the globe at large, to Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) in Tel Aviv. The service will be operated five times a week in August by the airline company, giving Israeli and British travelers more convenience and non-stop flights between the cities. This newest addition to the network of Arkia is in line with its growing ambitions to expand international activities, more specifically in Europe. The company has the image of being keen to touristic markets, and London Stansted, business and

ARKIA Boosts UK-Israel Connectivity With New Tel Aviv-London Stansted Flights

While the summer peak schedule in the outset is

aggressive, Arkia will scale back operations somewhat once the peak dissipates. Beginning in the month of September, the service will dip to three times weekly, through October 2025. The refinements mirror typical seasonal adjustments in the industry, in which the carriers rebalance routes based on shifting demand. The passenger experience for the new route will be Arkia’s customary narrow-body jet service, utilizing Embraer 195 or Airbus A321 aircraft, respectively, based on capacity requirements
