HERE IS WHAT THE REGISTERED VOTERS OF THE OF CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE MAY 6, 2023 ELECTION The Voter Guide includes a list of the candidates running for office, information on the proposed bonds, and polling locations.

WHAT IS ON THE BALLOT?

THE CITY OF PEARLAND WILL HAVE A GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTION ON MAY 6, 2023.

The General Election is to vote for the following City Council positions up for election: Mayor, Council Member Position 3, and Council Member Position 7. The candidates are (in ballot order):

The Special Election is to vote for or against a $181,310,000 bond package. The bonds are broken into four propositions, including:

Proposition "A" in the amount of $105,500,000 for drainage improvements

Proposition "B" in the amount of $26,146,000 for street, bridge, and sidewalk improvements

Proposition "C" in the amount of $33,705,000 for park and recreation purposes

Proposition "D" in the amount of $15,959,000 for construction, repair, and improvement of Fire Station No.7

WHERE CAN I VOTE? Registered voters in the City of Pearland can cast ballots at any Brazoria County polling location. CITY OF PEARLAND RESIDENTS LIVING IN FORT BEND OR HARRIS COUNTY CAN VOTE ON THE CITY OF PEARLAND BALLOT, AT ANY BRAZORIA COUNTY POLLING LOCATION. EARLY VOTING

VOTING BY MAIL Applications for ballot by mail should be mailed to:

Federal Post Card Applications (FPCAs) must be received no later than the close of business on April 25, 2023. More information on voting by mail can be found here . REGISTER TO VOTE Texas law requires eligible voters to register by the 30th day before Election Day. The voter registration deadline for the May 6, 2023 Election is April 6, 2023. More information can be found here . ID REQUIREMENTS FOR VOTING Under Texas law, voters who possess one of the seven acceptable forms of photo ID must present that ID at the polls when voting in person. Voters who do not possess and cannot reasonably obtain one of the seven approved forms of photo ID may fill out a Reasonable Impediment Declaration (RID) at the polls and present an alternative form of ID, such as a utility bill, bank statement, government check, or a voter registration certificate.
