LAWineFest June 3-4, 2023 | Long Beach, California lawinefest.com THE 18TH ANNUAL LAWineFest returns in June to the Harry Bridges Memorial Park in Long Beach, with the Queen Mary as a picturesque backdrop for the two-day event considered by locals as a summertime institution. Billed as a casual experience for oenophiles and those interested in learning more about vino, the popular “all things wine” festival is considered a trailblazer in L.A. as an inviting and informative gathering for anyone who wants to explore wine

Extending over Labor Day in Black Rock City, Nevada, Burning Man started in 1986 in San Francisco as a bonfire ritual on the beach before it was moved to the Nevada desert in 1991. The temporary community has thousands of tents and RVs with no phone service or electricity. Bartering and donations, rather than cash, are the only acceptable forms of exchange at the eclectic event, where attendees provide the entertainment through random artistic installations, theater performances, concerts, yoga classes, exhibitions, music and DJ sets. Burning Man culminates in an enormous bonfire where a large, stuffed puppet is burned.
