Job purpose To have overall responsibility for the maintenance of Whitgift Care properties (Whitgift House, Wilhelmina House, Whitgift Almshouses, and the Carers Information Service at 22-26 George Street), working closely with the Director of Care and senior leadership team; and the Foundation offices.
• To be responsible for setting and delivering the maintenance budget, to address compliance, proactive and reactive maintenance.
• To manage the facilities team and ensure maintenance tasks are prioritised and carried out appropriately to the required standard and timescales.
• To out-source tasks and projects where appropriate and manage external contractors and advisors.
• To ensure best value and efficiency is delivered in all areas of maintenance and facilities.
The Facilities Manager Role
Main responsibilities • To set the care maintenance and facilities budget with the Director of Property and Director of Care. To manage expenditure to the budget, ensuring value for money and optimum use of any internal resourcing and skills. • To lead the review, procurement and manage the operation of all external compliance, maintenance, operation and service contracts for Whitgift Care. These include, but are not limited to, catering, Care Line, industrial wastage/ bins and security.
