Active Duty Dependents. The TRICARE Dental Program (TDP) is a voluntary, high quality, cost-effective dental care plan for eligible family members of active duty uniformed services personnel. The plan pays the entire cost of diagnostic, emergency, and preventive services, with the exception of sealants. The plan provides an annual maximum coverage of $1,500 per patient for all dental care except orthodontics. For orthodontic services, there is a maximum lifetime benefit of $1,750. Since the plan is subsidized by the government, the monthly premiums are relatively low. The premium depends on the sponsor’s military status. For the period 1 May 2021– 30 April 2022 the monthly premiums for active duty family members are $11.65 for one family member or $30.28 for two or more family members. The program is currently operated by United Concordia. You

Box 645547 Pittsburgh, PA 15268 Retirees and Their Dependents. In 2019, the TRICARE Retiree Dental Program (TRDP) was replaced by the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP). The program offers eligible participants a range of plans, some with both high and standard options. This gives you great choice and flexibility when selecting the right coverage for you and your family. You can enroll in the FEDVIP during open season which runs from the Monday of the second full work week in November through the Monday of the second full work week in December. You can also enroll outside of open season if you are newly eligible or experience a qualifying life event (QLE). Once you enroll in a FEDVIP dental and/or vision plan, your coverage will automatically continue each year.
