Beachwood Community Theater TV & Movie Showcase Instructor: Julie Matthews Discover the magic of performance! This dynamic program introduces kids and teens to the exciting world of television and film — whether they’re simply curious, just having fun, or taking their first steps toward a future career. Participants will work on scenes from popular TV shows and movies, learning how to bring characters to life while sharpening technique, audition skills, and confidence. Guided by experienced Producer and Casting Director Julie Matthews, students will build creativity, self-expression, and stage presence in a supportive, high-energy environment. Beginner In-Line & Roller Skating Instructor: CVRR Staff Come and learn to skate like the pros. The course includes five lessons and the sixth class allows students a chance to show family and friends what they’ve learned in a fun-time skate. Students can use in-line or roller skates or rent them free of charge from the rink. The students will be taught the following: starting, stopping, gliding, striding, squatting, marching, scissors and crosses. Grades: K-6 | Session Length: 6 Weeks

Youth Karate Instructor: Raphael Lancry
Sensei Raphael Lancry has trained in a variety of martial art disciplines spanning over a 30 year period specializing in Karate. Sensei Lancry’s curriculum will include basic, intermediate, and advanced levels of training in the Okinawan Shorin-ryu Karatedo system and self-defense. Training includes Kata (forms), self-defense techniques, striking, blocking, and falling applications. Karate training has been proven to develop discipline, respect, honor, physical fitness, and positive thinking. This training also focuses on leadership and communication skill development, balance, personal growth, hand-eye coordination, and etiquette. Special karate apparel (Gi) is required and can be purchased at the start of class. Then, we’ll bring the action to life as we build and program LEGO® mini robots.
