The Purpose of the Dental, Oral Health and Immunization Program

Objective: Participants will be provided with preventive, educational outreach and clinical/mobile services to children and young adults of El Paso County, ages 6 months until their 21st birthday and specialty groups so they can establish a foundation to obtain and sustain good oral health.

Parent Intervention Strategies for Toddler & Pre-School Aged Children Clarissa Navedo, M.S., CCC-SLP & Melissa Ortiz, M.S., CCC-SLP Valeo Rehab Objective: The objective of this presentation is to educate parents on the developmental milestones of their toddler and pre-school aged children as well as providing activities and ways to assist this development at home if delays are present. There will also be education on speech, occupational and physical therapy and how these therapies assist with child development when delays are diagnosed. Objective: Participants will be able to walk away with ideas for learning STEM activities that children along with an adult can create. These activities will include using simple items found around the home to have fun this summer while they continue to learn to self-regulate emotionally and enjoy Science projects at the same time.

Objective: Participants will learn and understand the Safety Protocols implemented in the Head Start program to assure children, families and staff are safe regarding any type of emergency.
