OCTOBER 2025
franklinbuildingsupply.com | 208-514-2200 | 9222 W. Barnes Dr., Boise, ID 83709 ‘We Want More Than Our Fair Share’
We’re fortunate to have a rich history in most of the markets we operate in every day. We’ve been around for decades, have a good reputation, and maintain strong relationships with a significant portion of the builder community. Even so, we do not have 100% market share of any market we operate in. It’s too much. When a company controls nearly all of the market, close to 100%, it creates an opening for competitors to step in with something different. That “something different” might be a better price, an alternative
value what we bring to the table as we endeavor to make building easy.
To make “building easy” more than an aspiration, to make it a lived experience every single day, we must
run our business differently from everyone else. That means owning our commitment to
product, or any other reason that convinces customers to switch providers. In other words, a healthy market is a competitive market.
being safe every day, to guiding well, to wowing consistently, and to striving relentlessly. These are the building blocks that elevate us, enabling us to make bold promises to our customers and to deliver on them time and again.
So, what does it mean when we say we want more than our fair share of the market?
“TO MAKE ‘BUILDING EASY’ MORE THAN AN ASPIRATION, TO MAKE IT A LIVED EXPERIENCE EVERY SINGLE DAY, WE MUST
This is who we are. This is Franklin. This is why we can earn more than our fair share of the business out there. In an economic cycle like the one we’ve faced over the past three years, the total amount of business hasn’t changed much, but what can change is how much of it we can gain and retain. Market share has always mattered, but in times like these, it matters even more. The good news is clear: We’ve been gaining and retaining more.
It means that, at FBS, we don’t leave market share to chance. We actively shape it. We’re intentional about attracting and keeping the right customers: those who are good for our business and who feel the same about us. Our goal is to be more than a supplier; we strive to be a solutions partner, helping our customers grow and strengthen their businesses.
RUN OUR BUSINESS DIFFERENTLY FROM EVERYONE ELSE.”
When we sit down with a prospective customer, we want to be able to say with honesty and humility: “The best builders in this market work with FBS. They rely on us to support their growth and success. We’re not perfect, but we care deeply and do things the right way. No one works harder or pushes further. If you’re a top builder, or working to become one, and our approach resonates with you, we’d love to show you what we can do.” When we can make this pitch with honesty and humility, we position ourselves to capture more than our fair share of the builder market. We can choose to do business with the best builders who appreciate and
But this is no time to rest on our laurels. Now is the time to keep pushing and to keep striving. Let’s rally around that mindset as we enter the final quarter of 2025 and finish the year with growing momentum, not fading effort.

HIGH FIVES!
SAFE From: Quintin Luker, Bellevue To: Simba and Fidel, Bellevue
Both of these two have come to me in the last couple of days with ideas or reminders on how to do tasks safely. Comforting to know we have safety eyes all over the yard. EASY From: Chris Trammell, McCall To: Oliver Ott, McCall, and Quentin Mettie, McCall A gentleman named Tony Schilling took time out of his day to stop by the store and rave about our service. Specifically, Oliver Ott and Quentin Mettie. Tony said Oliver was accommodating and pleasant to work with, his measurements were spot-on, and the new front door on his house is beautiful. Tony also wanted to compliment Quentin as a good human and his skills as a driver, as his driveway is a bit tricky to negotiate with a trailer. Quentin went the extra mile to protect the door until the install. Both our guys (and the door shop) made a good impression. Way to go! STRIVE
WOW From: Mitchel Montgomery, Twin Falls To: Cody Huft, Jerome, and Sierra Baker, Twin Falls
Cody and Sierra work at different locations; however, their ability to reach out to one another is outstanding. I have witnessed many times both of them reaching out to one another and giving each other a hand. Sierra will need help with products pulled for a customer, and Cody will get it taken care of. Cody has questions relating to sales- order/credit, and Sierra was there to answer. You would think they worked at the same location because of the way they help each other out. GUIDE From: Daniel Midby, Bellevue To: Scott Lovell, Bellevue
I really appreciate the leader Lumpy has become. He helps mentor and develop our young crew every day. He sets the bar high while also teaching accountability and ownership in the work we do. We like to give him a hard time, but the truth is that we all value and respect him. Appreciate you, Lump.
From: Javan Stansell, Bellevue To: Michael Ribillard, Bellevue
A special order product of ours was missing when the vendor claimed it had been delivered. Long story short, Michael tracked it down to being dropped at ID Lumber. The customer was at a standstill until he found it.

In the Spotlight
IN THE SPOTLIGHT DOING SOMETHING GOOD EVERY DAY: THE FREDDY REAL WAY
At Franklin Building Supply, our success is built on more than just the products we deliver; it’s built on the dedication, passion, and commitment of our team members. Every day, they bring their skills and individuality to the job and make a difference not only for our customers but for each other. One example of this is Freddy Real, an important member of our Boise Finish location, who has been with us since April 29, 2019. Freddy works in Door Production Prep, but if you ask him what he does, he’ll tell you his first priority is customer service. That’s the kind of mindset that makes him stand out. He sees his role not just as building doors, but as helping people. For Freddy, every day begins with careful preparation: checking his machines, reviewing the workload, and
paying attention to the details that ensure a job well done. It’s a routine that reflects his dedication to quality and safety, two values we strive for at Franklin Building Supply. What drives Freddy isn’t just the work itself but the challenge. Every day brings new projects and unique needs from builders, and Freddy thrives on finding solutions. He finds real satisfaction in collaborating with his teammates to deliver products they can all be proud of. “At the end of the day,” he says, “we did something good.” That sense of shared accomplishment is at the heart of what makes our team so strong. Outside of the shop, Freddy’s giving spirit continues to shine. He volunteers with Circuit Writers Ministries, helping provide
food, clothing, utility assistance, and bus passes for people in need. For Freddy, lending a hand isn’t just something he does; it’s part of who he is. Freddy also finds motivation in setting an example for his family, friends, and coworkers. Every morning, he gets up with the mindset that he’s planting roots in his community through his actions. Freddy Real reminds us why we treasure our team so much. His dedication, generosity, and drive reflect the very best of Franklin Building Supply. We’re grateful to have him on our team, and we can’t wait to see what he accomplishes next.
