THE PANTHERS
1974. In the face of increasing racial-targeting from the New Zealand Government and Police, and on a quest for justice and equality; a group of young, Polynesian street-gangsters and university students take inspiration from The Black Panther movement in the USA to form their own revolutionary movement, The Polynesian Panthers. Based on true events, THE PANTHERS is a dynamic, entertaining drama series, infused political and social themes that are still relevant today the world over. The story is elevated by a colourful, musical and, at times, humorous treatment that defies the period and confounds expectations.
