Proaudio Sound Press Magazine February 2024

sound press | FEBRUARY 2024

In 2013, I released my debut compilation album through F! Records and Soul Candi. My performance credits include major music and arts festivals across South Africa and Mozambique, with over twenty appearances at H2O events. I've held residencies across Gauteng, performed in numerous cities and towns, and toured extensively throughout South Africa. Throughout this journey, I've had the privilege of sharing my experiences and knowledge, making my career a source of gratitude and fulfillment. Proaudio Sound Press: What are your favorite musical instruments to play, and do you incorporate any live instrument elements into your DJ performances or music productions? TradeMarc: In my earlier years, I immersed myself in playing the piano and drums. I don’t use any live instruments currently, mainly because I live in an apartment and I simply don’t have the space. However, I own several keyboards, DJ equipment, and production- related products. I also have a Zoom H5 audio recorder, which I use to record my live DJ sets. Lately, I've used the H5 and have delved into Foley to integrate live elements into my music production. Over the past five years, I've made significant investments in various plugins, a move that has greatly elevated my proficiency in music production. Proaudio Sound Press:You’re known for your down-to-earth and easy-going personality. How do these qualities affect your approach to working with fellow artists and collaborators in the industry? TradeMarc: Thank you for the kind words! At the end of the day, I’m just being myself. If my personality can shape or influence a positive and collaborative atmosphere around me, then I’m happy.

I prioritize open communication and building relationships based on trust and respect. I hope that a similar approach from other artists can contribute to a supportive industry culture. Proaudio Sound Press: Are there any upcoming projects or collaborations you're excited about that you can share with your fans and the audience? TradeMarc: In recent months, I've been working on loads of new music under a new production alias. When the time is right, I’ll reveal all.
