Demonstrable leadership experience, and the ability to build, develop and motivate large teams to meet or exceed targets and deliver high levels of customer care, is essential. Overall purpose of post: To deliver excellent customer/ student experience and a strategic approach to income generation and business development. The Director of Commercial will be responsible for identifying and driving commercial activity to ensure income growth and diversification across the University, by building new business relationships and partnerships maximising profit generation from the University’s assets and delivering by inspiring great performance from their team. The post holder will work closely with the Director of Estates and Campus Services, Deputy Director - Estates, and ECS Divisional Heads to develop a customer-focused service provision using in- house and outsourced service providers. Lead and work collaboratively with colleagues from across the Directorate and at an institutional level to enhance operational processes and integration.

Estates and Campus Services (ECS) is an intrinsic part of the University, and is key to supporting the overall student experience and, therefore, student learning and satisfaction. ECS staff play an important role in the lives of students and staff every day and the way we deliver services and present the built environment has a demonstrable impact on the way in which Oxford Brookes is perceived and remembered.
ECS is responsible for a broad range of diverse facilities and services that directly and indirectly enhance the student experience. Our aim is to provide an estate and services that are excellent, value for money, safe and sustainable. Through the delivery of an Estate Strategy, and the provision of quality and cost effective services, ECS will support the delivery of the University's world-class research, including knowledge transfer, consultancy and commercial activities.

Qualifications required for post: A degree or equivalent. A post-graduate or professional qualification in a business, facilities management or marketing discipline is desirable.
