SUSTAINABILITY LEADERSHIP

Colombia , Tiempo De Juego

Tiempo de Juego use playful learning as a tool for community transformation, to promote skills in girls, boys and young people, inspiring them to be agents of change. Their programme serves the most vulnerable children in neighbourhoods across Colombia, who suffer from widespread hopelessness and symptoms of trauma in association with abject poverty and routine violence.

Tiempo de Juego creates and develops its methodologies and educational activities themselves. Eco-Juego is one of them The Ecojuegos Methodology Ecojuegos are sports games designed to be applied and replicated in any training session, inspired by elements of nature. Young people can access the platform and use the eco-games which each have a sport and environmental reflection component. Each game includes a description, rules of the game, and tips for the instructor on how to facilitate interesting discussions and reflections. There are videos made by the ‘Forest Guardian’ young leaders, who explain how to use the games.

The Project: Restoring the Forest and Recycling Plastic

As part of Move for the Planet, Tiempo de Juego has implemented a project in Florencia, Caquetá. Education was a key piece of the project, covering mainly two components: 1. Raising awareness in Sports Schools: - 200 young people taking part in weekly football training sessions, addressing environmental issues and life skills. 2. Empowering local young leaders: - Environmental leadership training for 20 young people from the community - called ‘Forest Guardians’. - Monthly intensive training sessions, teaching skills with an environmental and sports focus.
