Christopher Dale Senior Associate Marcus & Millichap Years with company/firm: 4 Years in field: 4 Years in real estate industry: 4 Real estate organizations/ affiliations: National Office and Industrial Properties Group; Healthcare Real Estate Group I am very proud of my first closing on an office building in 2019. I learned the value of honesty and patience, and realized this was the profession I wanted to be in. However, my greatest professional accomplishment was representing a group of doctors on a purchase of a value-add property right at the start of the pandemic in 2020. The stock market was plunging and the tenant filed for bankruptcy while we were under contract. We negotiated a re-trade, navigated bankruptcy complications and ultimately advised our clients on a gameplan through it all. The buyer group executed our gameplan in less than a year with better than anticipated results. It felt ter- rific to quarterback the project through its entirety and see a community benefit as a result. How do you contribute to your company and/ or the industry? Nicholas Pirone Senior Associate Marcus & Millichap Years with company/firm: 4 Years in field: 6 Years in real estate industry: 6 Real estate organizations/affiliations: National Office and Industrial Properties Group I consult and strategize with my partners to ensure we provide the best representation to each client even if that means, as it often does, passing business along to a colleague who can better execute on their behalf. I strongly believe this system is important to our company’s success. When it is the client that is priority one, the company succeeds and that allows all the members of the team to succeed. MAREJ What is your greatest professional accom- plishment? What is your greatest professional accom- plishment? My biggest professional accomplishment so far has been completing 11 investment sales in one year and, as a result, earning a Sales Recognition Award from Marcus & Millichap. However, what really makes these accomplishments so great is the joy I find in helping my clients achieve their goals. While every client is different, their goals often result in life-changing opportunities for them. Being able to help them in their journeys is very special to me. How do you contribute to your company and/ or the industry? Early on in my career, three other brokers and I started coordinating a networking happy hour (now referred to as R.E.P., or the Real Estate Professionals). We founded the group with the intention to bring together like-minded individuals under the age of 40 whose experience and expertise could help advance each other's careers. Over the years, our group grew beyond just happy hours. Nowadays, we get together for other outings, such as property tours, charitable events, sporting events, etc. Additionally, I try to be a resource to anyone in our business. I keep an extensive list of relevant industry contacts, including attorneys, accountants, engineers, HVAC contractors, leas- ing agents and roofers to help new agents with anything they need to best support their clients and transactions. John Faus Associate Marcus & Millichap Years with company/firm: 1 Years in field: 1 Years in real estate industry: 2 Real estate organizations/ affiliations: National Office and Industrial Properties Group; Urban Land Institute’s Young Leaders Group What is your greatest professional accomplish- ment? I believe my greatest professional accomplish- ment so far was earning Marcus & Millichap’s Rookie of the Year award in 2021. The award was a team effort and would not have been possible without my supportive managers and staff, trusting clients and my partner, Bryn Merrey. The award was symbolic of the relentless hard work put forth by a large group of people. How do you contribute to your company and/or the industry? There is so much value sharing at Mar- cus & Millichap. You can approach any senior agent or manager with a question and they will stop what they’re doing to provide insight. I learned very quickly that the culture at the firm is about succeeding together. I try my best to help newer agents, whether it’s speaking at their training meetings or being available to answer specific industrial-related questions. Additionally, I am a mem- ber of the Urban Land Institute's Young Leaders Group. Who or what has been the strongest influence in your career? By far my partner and mentor, Bryn Mer- rey. With 20 years of experience in the industry, he is a true expert who I am very lucky to work alongside. Being able to tap into his knowledge and observe his approach to the business is a true advantage. He has contributed so much to my growth and ability. I have worked under Bryn since the day I joined the firm and we are now building a team that we hope to scale across the Mid-Atlantic. MAREJ

Michael Hinchman Senior Associate Marcus & Millichap Years with company/firm: 4 Years in field: 4 Years in real estate industry: 6 Real estate organizations/ affiliations: National Office and Industrial Properties Group My greatest professional accomplishment isn’t a singular moment or achievement. It’s the relation- ships that I have with my clients and the trust that they have in me. At the end of the day those things mean the most, though achieving an extraordinary result or getting a large, complicated transaction to the finish line is certainly gratifying. How do you contribute to your company and/ or the industry? What is your greatest professional accom- plishment? My contributions to both are ultimately a byprod- uct of what I contribute to my clients. I pride myself in adding real value for clientele through being a keen observer, creative problem solver, hard worker and an effective communicator. I’m lucky to have a background in pure mathematics and physics, which I believe gives me a competitive edge. I also just try to do things the right way, which is getting harder to come by these days. Essentially, my philosophy is doing good work will always come back around to you. It seems to be working so far. Who or what has been the strongest influence in your career? In a way, my academic background has influenced my approach to the analytical component of the business and has propelled me forward pretty quickly. MAREJ

Mher Vartanian Senior Associate Marcus & Millichap Years with company/firm: 3 Years in field: 4 Years in real estate industry: 4 Real estate organizations/ affiliations: National Retail Group

What is your greatest professional accom- plishment? The Uzun Group became the most transactionally active multifamily team in south- ern Virginia in 2021. We look forward to retaining that title. How do you contribute to your company and/ or the industry? I contribute to the industry by providing my clients with extraordinarily high value opportunities and local market expertise to empower them to maximize the success of their investments. I do so through my extensive network that includes the best industry professionals in Virginia who can ensure successful asset management prior to our clients exit of said investments. Who or what has been the strongest influence in your career? George Overstreet, the professor of commerce at University of Virginia, played a piv- otal role in encouraging and motivating me to enter commercial real estate brokerage during my tenure at UVA. Tell us how and when you began your career in the profession you are in, about your current position and why you chose the field/profession you are in today? I began in commercial real estate because I was drawn to the relatively nonexistent ceil- ing on earning potential. I began my career a month after graduating from UVA and today I run a six-per- son multifamily brokerage team. I chose multifamily because I wholeheartedly believe that it is one of the best investment vehicles in America today. MAREJ

What is your greatest professional accom- plishment? In December of 2021, we negotiated, went under contract, and closed a 172 townhome deal and 502K sqft industrial deal simultaneously. Closing those two deals in conjunction in the most hectic month of the year was our greatest accomplishment. It is when I honestly understood what "Running a Process" is. The coordination we orchestrated for inspectors, appraisers, lenders and attorneys elevated us to a new level of brokerage and solidified the fact that the years of work we put into learning the industry paid off. I am incredibly proud of my team and our accomplishments that month, and I am also honored to have worked with so many of our industry's bright- est minds to see it all come to fruition. How do you contribute to your company and/ or the industry? I contribute to my industry and Marcus & Mil- lichap by providing mentorship to newer agents. Coming into the industry, I didn't have a mentor and had to figure out a lot on my own, which resulted in months of trial and error. While this ultimately made me a better broker, not every new agent has the luxury of time like I did. Helping new agents is very important to me because I believe offering a little bit of my time can make a big difference in someone else's life. Real estate is a relationship- driven industry, and being a pillar for new agents to lean on brings me immense joy. MAREJ
