Before I took this workshop, I wasn’t as patient with my son. I was a little bit overbearing sometimes. After the workshop, I learned techniques to be a little bit more patient, to communicate better with my son and not overreact. Sometimes parents think that at a high school level, kids don’t need us anymore or even at the middle school level, so we kind of check out… like you’re on your own. But that’s when they need us the most because those years can either make them or break them.

So having workshops like this is very important.

I even joked around with my son about it. I said, “Hey, I graduated from high school before you did.” He was happy and proud that I took those types of workshops, and was really proud when I brought home my diploma.
