CHAPTER NEWS

Bernard Reeves Endowed Scholarship was estab- lished at UNC Charlotte to support undergraduate brothers who exemplify integrity, achievement, and leadership. After Brother Reeves’ passing, Brother Avery Wilkerson assumed the role of lead advisor, guiding the chapter through a period of revitalization until his election as Polemarch of the Charlotte (NC) Alumni Chapter in 2023. The chap- ter’s current lead advisor, Frederick O. Kenley (Zeta Delta 2011), continues this legacy alongside a dedicated advisory team committed to the success of the under- graduate brothers. For more than five decades, the brothers of Zeta Delta have continued to exemplify the frater- nity’s guiding purpose of “Achievement in Every Field of Human Endeavor.” Dr. Greg Davis (Zeta Delta 1978) established the University Transition Opportunities Program (UTOP) in 1986, helping thousands of underrepre- sented students transition successfully to college. Chadwick Kinch (Zeta Delta 1977) made history as the 22nd overall pick in the 1980 NBA Draft, selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

recognition of his decades of excellence, mentorship, and contribution to colle- giate athletics. RENEWED ZEAL After a brief absence from campus, Zeta Delta made a triumphant return to UNCC in 2022, reigniting the passion and commitment that have long defined the chapter. Since returning, the chapter has been honored as Middle Eastern Province Chapter of the Year for three consecutive years (2023, 2024, and 2025). It was also named Student Organization of the Year in 2024 and 2025, and most notably, Fraternity of the Year at UNC Charlotte in 2023, 2024, and 2025. These distinctions reflect the chapter’s renewed energy, leadership, and dedication to upholding the values of Kappa Alpha Psi. The chapter’s motto, “Witness the Zeal”, is a testament to the enduring spirit that drives each brother to serve and achieve. As Zeta Delta celebrates 55 years of brotherhood, leadership, and zeal, the chapter stands as proof of what can be accomplished through the unwavering bond of fraternity as Kappa men committed to excellence. ♦

Smith University (JCSU) for 18 years, leading the school to six consecutive Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Champion- ships and earning Coach of the Year honors in 1999, 2000, 2002, and 2003.
