Eric E. McGrier 1965-2024 Healthcare Professional

T he Norristown (PA) Alumni Chapter mourns the passing of Eric McGrier (Norris- town (PA) Alumni 2017), who entered the Chapter Invisible on October 3, 2024, after a valiant fight against cancer. He was committed to his beloved fraternity and deeply valued his friendships. Born on November 18, 1965, at Einstein-South Medical Hospital in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he remained closely con- nected to his friends and cherished spending time with them. For his education, McGrier attended St. Rita Catholic School and later graduated from Bishop Neuman High School. He earned his undergradu- ate degree from Carlow University, and in 2008, McGrier earned an Execu- tive MBA from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. He also received post-grad- uate certificates from the Wharton School of Business and the Chicago

providing guidance and encouragement. In 2009, McGrier started running to improve his health and often ran with running partner Jennifer Lewis at Cooper River Park. He co-founded the Black Men Run in Phila- delphia and South Jersey chapters, participating in races, ten milers, half mara- thons, and marathons. Later in life, e became passionate about red wines and bourbons, becoming a member of the Black Bour- bon Society and building an impressive collection of rare bottles. Brother Eric McGrier is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Dawn D. McGrier, and their children: Erica, Erin, and Erial. Also surviving are his brothers, Robert and Maurice McGrier, along with his devoted Aunts Debbie, Maureen, Bonita, and Uncle Rahman. ♦

Health Partners.

McGrier was active in the Norristown (PA) Alumni Chapter, holding many roles in the chapter such as Keeper of Records and Vice Polemarch, intending to serve as the Polemarch in the 2025-2026 calendar year. Throughout his illness, McGrier could still be found at all Kappa events and meetings and was a mentor to many of the brothers in the chapter
