Superior Health Center - December 2019

target is too broad or if you don’t have a clear plan to accomplish it, things can become overwhelming very quickly. The key to achieving and maintaining your resolution is to have a goal that is not only specific to your needs but also has a well-thought-out strategy. For 2020, Superior Health Centers wants to encourage our patients to refocus on any nutrition and exercise goals they might have for the new year. If you find yourself struggling to keep up with any of your current goals, now is the perfect time to reevaluate them.Think about different methods you can use to get excited once again or to give yourself the extra push you need to ensure you’re following them day after day. Sticking with your nutrition plan won’t only help you achieve a fit body but will also prevent many other problems from arising. One important nutrition plan we want to ask our patients to keep moving forward with is the Paleolithic, or paleo, nutrition plan. Paleo nutrition is essential because it decreases the risks of inflammation appearing throughout the body, which is often caused by many other foods. Our team considers inflammation a serious enemy for many of our patients who are suffering from

chronic conditions that we treat here in our clinic. By sticking with anti-inflammatory foods, our patients will improve their recovery rate and their overall health. In addition to nutritional goals, exercise also plays a crucial part in our patients’ lives. To live a healthy lifestyle, a person must be active in some way, shape, or form. Our clinic offers a number of exercises that will help people stay active, each depending on the patient’s mobility. Not only will it keep people moving, but it will also improve range of motion, increase muscle strength, and enhance the efficiency of your cardiovascular system. We know that staying mobile is an essential part of life, and we will do our part to ensure you can keep moving for years to come. To help you refocus for the new year, try planning out your goals using SMART. By creating goals that are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound, you’ll make them easier for you to accomplish, no matter what your goals may be. “If you can’t fly then run. If you can’t run then walk. If you can’t walk then crawl. But whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.” – Martin Luther King Jr.
