CUBS’ CORNER
than their bond.
It was their signal—no matter what, they would stand together. “Chirp, chirp!” Storm responded immediately, his chirp full of energy. He stood a little taller, his brothers flanking him on either side. “Chirp, chirp!” Bolt’s calm voice added to the chorus, steady and reassuring. Blaze, always the bold one, called out last. “Chirp, chirp!” His chirp was full of fire, echoing across the bush. “We’re not afraid!” The lion let out a deep laugh, but it was clear his confidence was beginning to waver. The cheetahs had made a stand—together. “You may be fast, but you’re still just cheetahs,” the lion said, his eyes flicking from one brother to the next. “You think you can scare me off?” The brothers didn’t hesitate. They didn’t need to fight; they just needed to show the lion that they were united. They stood shoulder to shoulder, their bodies low, their eyes never leaving his. The lion might have been bigger, but he wasn’t stronger “THE LION MAY HAVE BEEN BIGGER, BUT THE BROTHERS HAD SOMETHING HE COULDN’T TAKE FROM THEM—A BOND THAT MADE THEM STRONGER THAN ANY SINGLE PREDATOR.”
“Chirp, chirp!” Dash called again, the sound ringing louder this time, an unmistakable challenge. The lion’s eyes flicked nervously as he took a step back, uncertain. He wasn’t used to creatures standing their ground like this. “Fine,” the lion muttered, before turning and walking away, his tail flicking in irritation. As soon as the lion was out of sight, the brothers exhaled in relief. They hadn’t needed to fight. Their unity had been enough. “Chirp, chirp!” Dash said with a grin, his heart still racing. “You were right,” Bolt said, his voice calm but full of pride. “Together, we’re unstoppable.” “We’ll always have each other’s backs,” Storm added, his eyes gleaming with the thrill of their victory. Blaze puffed out his chest. “No lion can ever break our bond!” And so, as the sun began to set, painting the sky with hues of pink and orange, the brothers chirped one last time, their voices full of joy and triumph. “Chirp, chirp!” they sang, their sounds echoing across the bush, a reminder that no matter the challenge, they would always be there for each other.
