Education/Training Essential • Degree or equivalent qualification or experience. Desirable • Managing safely IOSH certificate. • NEBOSH certificate. • Membership of professional body. Experience Essential • Substantial experience working in a senior operations role within an Estates function. • Substantial experience in management of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and building, infrastructure and site maintenance. • Experience of working within a large, complex organization with comparable characteristics to Keele University, including Governance and Decision Making. Proven experience of: • Building design and specification. • Commissioning electrical and mechanical systems. • Managing building infrastructure • Providing strategic leadership to large teams of employed staff and contractors. • Energy management and sustainable and environmental maintenance. • Life cycle planning and management. • Negotiating and managing service level agreements and contracts. • Managing large budgets effectively. • Leading procurement and tendering procedures, and delivering value for money. • Leading formal tender and procurement processes, including OJUE notices, undertaking best value analysis.

Desirable • Experience of working within the Higher Education Sector, including capital funding and decision making. • Energy conservation and life cycle cost assessments. • Leading Internal and public consultation. • Understanding of issue related to management of Security.
