MAST Construction holds topping out at Hudson County Community College’s new STEM building

UDSON, NJ — Hud- son County Commu- nity College (HCCC) recently held a topping out for the school’s new Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) build- ing, which is under construc- tion in Jersey City. Located at 257-263 Academy St. near Journal Square, the construc- tion currently is the larg- est STEM project in Hudson County, according to college president Dr. Glen Gabert. During the ceremony, the building’s uppermost beam was signed by the project team, including Eric Chait H

and Michael Sidoti , both project managers with MAST Construction Services , an award-winning, Little Falls, NJ-based project and con- struction management servic- es and owner’s representative firm. MAST is the construction manager for the project. Also signing the beam were Dr. Gabert and several Hudson County representatives. Scheduled to open in August 2017, the new $30 million STEM building will encom- pass 70,000 s/f on six floors, including computer, science, engineering, physics, electri- cal, biology, histology and chemistry labs, along with lecture halls and classrooms. When complete, the building will also include offices, stu- dent lounges and a coffee shop. “Hudson County Commu- nity College’s new STEM building demonstrates the school’s ongoing dedication to serving its students and the community,” said Ted Domuracki , MAST’s founder and president. “We are pleased to be a part of the school’s ef- forts and look forward to the completion of this tremendous state-of-the-art facility.” Previously, MAST provided construction management services for the $33 million Hudson County Community College Library Building, a 117,000 s/f project that encompasses five floors with classrooms.Photo credit: Roy Groething, Jersey Pictures. n NGKF’s Data Center Consulting Group hires Sumner Putnam RUTHERFORD, NJ — Newmark Grubb Knight Frank (NGKF) announced
