Welcome from the Pallesen Ranch Thank you for your interest in our program and for taking the time to look through this offering. Donald started this program in 1986, with a clear focus on building cattle that function in real-world commercial conditions. We would also like to sincerely thank the many buyers who have supported us over the years. Your continued confidence in our cattle means a great deal to us, and we truly appreciate your business.
We are a working cattle ranch that raises registered Herefords with one goal in mind: to produce bulls that thrive in commercial environments and add real value to the cow herd. Our cows run at high elevation—9,000 feet—and they earn their keep. Each summer they travel more than two miles up steep canyon country to reach pasture. This kind of terrain quickly identifies cattle that can’t hold up, and we cull hard for soundness, feet and leg integrity, and long-term durability. Our cattle are managed just like a commercial operation—no creep feed and no shortcuts—because we want bulls that stay athletic, fertile, and useful for the long haul. We use embryo transfer as a tool to accelerate genetic progress, but we never lose sight of what matters most: function first. We breed for eye appeal, structural cor- rectness, and material strength, while keeping efficiency and cowherd profitability at the center of every decision. We also believe strongly in the value of crossbreeding. Industry research continues to show that heterosis improves lowly heritable but economically important traits, particu-
larly fertility and longevity, helping producers wean more pounds with fewer inputs over time. That is why we are firm believers in the black baldy F1 female. When Hereford genetics are used in a structured crossbreeding system, producers can capture both direct and maternal heterosis, improving whole-herd efficiency and reducing replacement pressure. Hereford cattle are widely recognized for strengths that matter in real production systems—fertility, docility, feed efficiency, and longevity—and for adding crossbred advantage without sacrificing end-product performance. Our bulls are bred and raised to: • Add maternal strength and efficiency to any cowherd • Improve longevity and stay-ability • Remain structurally sound in big country and tough conditions • Work for commercial or registered cattlemen, not just look good on picture day We appreciate the opportunity to earn your business and your trust. If we can help you evaluate your needs, discuss bull selection, or answer any questions about the offering, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We look forward to visiting with you and welcoming you on sale day. Thank you, Donald and Keri Donald & Keri Pallesen Donald Pallesen: 435-880-8062 Keri Pallesen: 435-880-8161
